To infinity, and beyond! ...unless there are vampires there.

Quite frankly, this "blog" (groan) is a good idea, and itll really contribute to my severe dnd withdrawl, since due to the insanity of school, i havent gotten anything accomplished, and if someone says "hey, wanna do something in a month" i respond "sorry, i have school work to do" Thats right, my life sucks. Anyways, on to dnd. Those of you who know of my DMing probably also know that my next campaign in the works takes place in my normal place, and is pretty much revolving on the development of character backrounds, making the gameplay, at least in the beginning, really RP heavy (those of you who were in the Vampire forum know what i'm talking about). Pretty much, I'd love some input on how i can get this pregame part of the task out of the way without having to deal with the equally busyness of my players... Wow, i feel like i said nothing. whatever.

A good way i've found to get things done in the pregame is to start by getting the players thinking about their characters. They don't need to fill out sheets yet, but they should be able to answer a few questions, such as

What is your character's view of Justice?
Hwo does your character think about the government?
and other questions along that vein, but the big ones are:
What does your character want?
What is precious to them?
What will they fight for?
What will they die for?

Both ideas work, but heres the thing: I've given a list of important stuff to have (ryugu's comment, check) but the problem with Mercutio's comment is that although a deadline would potentially speed things up, it would also add more work to be done by people who are almost guarunteedly busy with school work. Hell, thats why I havent been able to have people over, I'm always busy on the weekend. Oh, and anyone on this blog interested in participating in this at all (provided I know who you are) is free to make a character for my next campaign. Because it takes place in a set location, any character can appear off and on, so it has that cool "come as you please" feel to it. if you don't have me email, it be Syloviastoryteller@sbcglobal.net
